POS System Settings

There are two ways to access the system settings, which allow you to set the correct database path as well as printer and cash drawer options (only if the Management program is installed on a Point of Sale machine). To access these settings:

1. Go to System Settings, or click on the Settings button on the top bar (in red below).
   
   
   
   
   
2. The AccuPOS System Settings window will appear. From here, the main things that a Management-only computer should be concerned with are the Database path and the Configure Integrator option. To edit either one, simply click on the appropriate button. For more information on settings these paths and how to get the network configured correctly, please refer to the AccuPOS Network Setup Guide.
   
   
   
   
3. Detailed breakdown of the System Settings window
   
   Database - Click the database button to browse to the database on your main accounting computer.
   
   Configure Integrator - Click this button to browse for and activate the AccuLINK integrator.
   
   Local Database - PLATINUM ELITE VERSION ONLY - click this to browse and find your local database.
   
   Station - PLATINUM ELITE VERSION ONLY - sets individual name of the station in Platinum Elite.
   
   Key Set Name - Specifies the key set for this particular POS station, if needed. Key sets are initially set up in the Keys Setup section of AccuPOS Management.
   
   Food Service Buttons - Choose your business type. If using Food Service, check the 'Tables' checkbox if you plan on keeping track of individual tables; click the 'Manual Choices' checkbox if you need to keep track of the choices of your restaurant items ("medium rare", "well done" etc for a steak, for example); the 'Turn off tips for this station' prints/does not print the credit card tip option on the bottom of the printed receipt.
   
   Printer Port: Print Driver - Allows you to set the font style and size on your receipts, as well as choose which printer to print to.
   
   Printer Port: Test Printer - Sends a test receipt to the printer so you can preview what it looks like.
   
   Ask to print receipt - Some businesses only need to print a receipt once in a while, so this option allows you ask the cashier if they'd wish to print one for the customer for that transaction.
   
   Receipt Logo - Browses for a bitmap of your logo ("yourlogo.bmp", for example) which will show at the top of your receipt. If you only have a JPG, EPS or GIF of your logo, it must be converted to a .BMP using a graphics program such as Photoshop, GIMP or Paint (free on all Microsoft Windows machines). Consult a graphic designer for this simple task, if needed.
   
   Left Logo Margin - Add or subtract numbers here if your logo needs horizontal adjusting on the printed receipt.
   
   Screen Logo - Click this to browse and find your logo for display on the top left of the Point of Sale station.
   
   Cash Drawer Port - This is automatically set when you specify the print driver.
   
   Scale Type / Port - Set the pulldown menu to choose your cash drawer manufacturer, and fill in the space for the model.
   
   Customer Display Type / Port - Set the pulldown menu to choose your customer display manufacturer, and fill in the space for the model.
   
   Test Display - Sends your welcome messages to the display for previewing.
   
   Welcome Message Line 1 - The top line that appears on your pole display, with a maximum of 20 characters.
   
   Welcome Message Line 2 - The bottom line that appears on your pole display, with a maximum of 20 characters.
   
   Wait [X] Seconds... - Some businesses wish to have a delay before the welcome message appears again, which is set in seconds here.
   
   Cash Drawer 1 & 2 Codes - "Count" - Sets the count of the cash drawer.
   
   Cash Drawer 1 & 2 Codes - "Codes" - Sets the code of the cash drawer.
   
   Test Drawer - Opens the cash drawer to assure that it is linked up properly.
   
   Paper Cutter Codes - "Count" - Sets the count of the paper cutter.
   
   Paper Cutter Codes - "Codes" - Sets the code of the paper cutter.
   
   Power off after quitting POS - Check this to automatically shut down the POS station after the user quits AccuPOS.
